Notes - - Email Oct. 19, 2014: I just came across your interesting website and was amazed to learn that surgeon Johann Georg Stubinger was from my hometown of Ober-Florsheim. I am a historian and have indexed most records of that village. I have one Johann Georg Stubinger, born 23 March 1757 in Ober-Florsheim (not 1759) baptism recorded in the Reformed churchbook of Ober-Florsheim), youngest of eight children of the baker Johann Heinrich Stubinger, and his wife Louisa. The family came to Ober-Florsheim between 1745 and 1748. The Stubinger family is not mentioned in the Reformed church records after 1757 (neither in the Catholic or Lutheran records), therefore it seems it moved to another location. Bakers often did not own their facilities, but rented them from the local community. If you are interested, I can send you some more information. In turn, I'd appreciate to learn more about Johann Georg Stubinger and his family in America.
Best wishes,
