- - Sept. 12, 2004: Barbara (Sinnott) Como, 66, of Utica, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Barbara was born in Utica on April 1, 1938, a daughter of John H. and Mary Loretta (Mack) Sinnott. At St. Patrick's Church, Utica, on March 7, 1959, Barbara married Howard Como. For many years, Barbara was employed at Maxwell's Restaurant in Utica, then later she was employed at Sangertown Mall. She was a member of St. Joseph's-St. Patrick's Church, Utica, and Barbara also did volunteer work for Toys for Tots. Barbara is survived by her husband, Howard; two daughters, Darlene Como, Utica, and Andrea Como, NC; two granddaughters, Brittany Peters and Ivy Griffin, NC; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Sister John Loretta, CSJ, Latham, NY, Rosemary Gerace, FL, Helen and Carl Roberts, Remsen, Suzanne and Richard Langolf, Utica, Delores and Bob Oliver, MO, and Veronica Przybyla and her friend Bob Dukes, Utica; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James Sinnott, NC, Thomas and Marion Sinnott, Rochester, NY, and Raymond and Carol Sinnott, Whitesboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Sibley and Loretta Jane McDonald; and three brothers, John, Michael and Robert Sinnott. Mrs. Como's funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 at 10:15 a.m. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, and at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's-St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday (today) from 7 to 9 p.m.
