Notes - - Plattsburgh Press Republican, Jan. 4, 1890: Levi Newcomb, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Newcomb, arrived at the parental home one or two days before Christmas. It is nearly nineteen years since he left West Plattsburgh with bis mother's blessing, to go west and find a home with his brothers who were settled there. He was but a boy when he went away, and we little thought so many years would come and go before he should return to visit the home of his childhood. His present residence is in South Dakota, Hand County, and the town of Silex. Levi
Newcomb will remain in West Plattsburgh during the winter. He will visit old scenes and places and old friends: he will notice the changes that time has made in the country and the people, while old friends will say that nineteen years have made the West Plattsburgh boy a western man.
- DIED - NEWCOMB - At West Plaitsburgh January 20th, 1917, Levi Newcomb aged 65 years. Funeral from his late home Tuesday at 2 p. m. Internment in West Plattsburgh.
