      - On Aug. 30, 1985, Canada issued a 34-cent stamp in recognition of Louis Hebert, the first European settler of Canada and the first French apothecary in the New World as well as the first magistrate of Quebec. The stamp was issued to mark the 45th International Congress of Pharmaceutical Sciences and of the International Pharmaceutical Federation. Canadian pharmacists consider Louis Hebert the father of their profession.
