Communication with Bill Courtwright, December, 2012:
Hi Ted,
Thanks for the reply. I have sent for the Mary Trombley Recores' death certificate and New York has no record on years 1934-1936. It is not uncommon for New York not to have death certificates as I have run into this problem before. However, when I ran into the problem I knew where that particular person was buried, so I at least have a record from the cemetery and or the town. However what is interesting about about Joseph and Mary Recore, coming from and having a very large family, is that no one seems to know where the two are buried or when they died - very interesting. I have pics of the stone for Nelson and Suzanne Dumas Recor, Nelson Recore Jr - 1876-1936; Anna Mae Morris Recore - 1919 1962; and a stone for a Joseph in the same plot area but no dates! I am wondering if that stone may be for Joseph. The story being that the two were divorced as indicated on the 1930 census for Mary Trumbley Recore and she is buried separately - somewhere else. Very intriguing. I have two Aunts (daughters of Mary Pearl Recore Cortwright) whom I may ask a few more questions. They distinctly remember where Mary Trumbley Recore and her few later children resided in Fayetteville, New York 1930.

Hi William:
Information on that particular Recore line came from Tina Recore, whose contact information I no longer have. So I cannot speak for its accuracy. I did some looking but didn't find much. She and others give a death date of Mary's husband, Joseph Recore, as Nov. 27, 1959, at Malone. However, I could not find any such death in Franklin County newspapers. I do know that in 1920, Joseph and Mary resided in Bridgeport, CN and the 1923 Bridgeport city directory also lists them. However, in the 1930 census, Mary Recore is in Manlius as head of household, indicating she is widowed. So it appears Joseph died not in 1959, but between 1923 and 1930.
Mary is not found in the 1940 census so she likely died prior to that. I went looking for her youngest children in 1940 and found Earl Recore had relocated back to Bridgeport and had resided in Syracuse in 1935; and Francis Recore was in Rome. The youngest, Raymond Recore, is not found in 1940. So my supposition is that Mary indeed died between 1930 and 1940, likely in the Syracuse area. If I find anything further, I'll let you know.
