- - 1910 U.S. Census, Ogdensburg, Fred A. Laflair is 32 years old and living on Albany Avenue with his wife Adelaide M. (28) and
their son Joseph F. (2). They have been married for 3 years and this is their only child. Fred was born in New York State as was his mother. His father was born in Canada.
- 1925 New York State Census, Ogdensburg, Fred Laflair (46) is living at 710 Mansion Ave. with his three children; Joseph (15), Victor (13) and Elizabeth (9). He works as a yard conductor.
- Fred A. LaFlair, 78, well-known retired brakeman of the New York Central railroad, died Sunday (June 16, 1957) at 6:45 a.in. in the Hepburn Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital Friday. Mir. LaFlair was born in Ogdensburg, May 26, 1879, the son of the late John B. and Emma Jane Sharp LaFlair. Educated in the public schools of Ogdensburg, Mr. LaFlair went to work as call boy for the New York Central railroad at the age of 18. In 1903 he went to work for the St. Lawrence Wholesale Grocery,'where he remained for more than seven years. About 1911 he returned to work at the New York Central, as a brakemnan, retiring because of ill health in 1941 after 37 years of service. Mr. LaFlair was twice married. His first wife, Jennie Lavigne LaFlair, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1901, died Nov. 7, 1903. On Sept. 5, 1906 he married the former Adelaide Mary LaRock, who died a number of years ago. Four children were born of this marriage. Mr. LaFlair was a member of Notre Dame Church and the St. Anthony and St. John the Baptist Societies of that Church, He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and a former member of t h e Maccabees and Eagle lodges. Surviving are two sons, Joseph F., well known plumber of this city; and Victor J., also of Ogdensburg; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Elizabeth) Raymond, Albuquerque, N. M.; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, George LaFlair, Ogdensburg. A daughter, Dena, died in infancy. Another brother, Simon, died in November 1956. Funeral services will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, New York Ave., Tuesday morning at 7:30 and 8 at Notre Dame Church where a high mass of requiem will be offered. Burial will be in the family plot in Notre Dame cemetery.
