    • - 1925 NYS census: Gladys was less than a year old and was living at 106 Riverside Ave., Ogdensburg, with her parents John E. and Elizabeth Como.

      - Feb. 17, 1940, Ogdensburg Journal: The body of Miss Glayds Como, 14, of this city, who died Friday afternoon of a heart attack while attending gymn classes at the New York State School for the Blind at Batavia. Mrs. Elizabeth Como, 26 Commerce St., this city, was notified of her daughter's deaty by Commissioner Lawrence J. McCarthy of this city who learned of the young woman's death from the state police of Canton. A teletype message informed the Canton authorities. The girl is believed tdo have overexerted during the gym classes and then suffered a heart attack. She had been a student at the blind school for the past several years and was blind in one eye while the other was astigmatic. She spent the Christmas holidays with her family in this city. Surviving besides her mother are four brothers, John, Earl;, Robert and Howard, and four sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth, Bernice and Dorothy, all of this city.

      - Feb. 18, 1940: Services for Miss Gladys Como, 14-year-old Ogdensburg girl who died suddenly at the New York School for the Blind at Batavia, will be held from the residence of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Como, 36 Commerce street. Monday aflernoon at 3:30 and a half hour later at St. John's Church. The Rev. Charles E. Kennedy will officiate. Miss Como, it was revealed yesterday, suffered a heart attack while in swimming in the school tank. Efforts to save her life failed. Previous advices, received by police and welfare authorities here, were to the effect that Miss Como had died in gym class.
