Notes |
- - 1900 census: Solomon LaFlair, 18, resides with grandfather Joseph Bushey, 82, and grandmother Louise Bushey, 69, in Ogdensburg. Of interest that next door were living Polly LaFlair, 55, widowed, with daughter Emma LaFlair, 14. We don't know what connection those LaFlairs have.
- Record from New York County Marriages shows the marriage on July 21, 1911 in St. Lawrence County, of Fanny Sayers, age 38, daughter of Peter Sayers and Ruth Santans, to, Solomon LaFlair, age 30, son of John LaFlair and Caroline Bushey. (Notre Dame Church, Ogdensburg, has record of marriage July 22, 1911, of Solomon LaFlair, and Philomine (Fanny) Seguin. Same couple.)
- 1920 census: Simon LaFlair, 38, Fannie LaFlair, 35 and daughters Marion, 8 and Caroline, 5, reside Ogdensburg with her mother, Kate Sayers, 71.
- 1925 NYS census: Solomon, 43, Fannie, 50; Caroline, 14 and Marvin, 12, reside at Diana, Lewis County, as lodgers, with Leslie and Mary E. Whitney, ages 50/40; and Mildred B. Whitney, 11.
- 1940: John S. LaFlair, 60, resides 811 S. Water St., with Fan, 65.
- The Journal, July 25, 1941: The death of Mrs. Fannie LaFlair, wife of Solomon LaFlair, occurred July 24, 1941. She was born Sept. 24, 1874 at Heuvelton, of Peter and Catherine Leatherroot. She first married Peter Sayer and there were two children by that marriage, Mrs. Samuel Green Waterman and Paul Sayer of Watertown. She then married Solomon LaFlair and there were two children by that marriage, Mrs. John Mashaw of Ogdensburg and Mrs. Maurice Lavancha of Watertown. (Note that this obit states that Fanny LaFlair was the daughter of Peter Leatherroot and had two children by her first husband, Peter Sayer. However, her marriage record to Solomon LaFlair lists her father as Peter Sayers. It is likely that she had two children out of wedlock and named them Sayers, which was her last name.)
