  - James P. Bell died at his home, 121 Hamilton St., this morning (Aug. 27, 1951) at 6:40. Mr. Bell was born in Throoptown, Ont., Sept. 20, 1871, the son of Peter Bell and Margaret McMahan Bell. He came to Ogdensburg with his parents several years later and was educated in the parochial schools of the city. In 1903 he was married to the Alice E. O'Neil in St. Mary's. The late Bishop Joseph H. Conroy performed the ceremony. Mr. Bell conducted a livery stable for several years. Later he entered the employment of the Hackett Hardware Store as a salesman and was with them until 1948. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and of the Holy Name Society. Mr. Bell is survived by his wife; one son, John Bell of North Hampton, Mass.; four daughters, Mrs. Howard Wood of this city, Mrs. Raymond Elting of Potsdam, Mrs. Wesley Baker of this city and also Miss Lois Bell; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Cunningham, Mrs. Thomas Callanan and Mrs. Cornelius Chalk. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
